 Best Practice Reports
Community Associations Institute (CAI) and the CAI Research Foundation are dedicated to conducting research and acting as a clearinghouse for information on innovations and best practices in community association creation and management. As part of the newly developed Best Practices project, operations related to various functional areas of community associations--governance, resident involvement and conflict resolution, and reserve studies/management--were presented during CAI's 50th National Conference in May 2001. The second series of Best Practice reports on the areas of financial operations, strategic planning, and community harmony & spirit, debuted in October 2001 at CAI's Community Leadership Forum.

Our Chapter offers many educational events throughout the year. ABCs: A Basic Course for Association Leaders is a one-day course and is a must for board members and first time managers who want information on the most pertinent issues pertaining to community associations operations. This is a highly interactive course designed to get you involved! This course covers all the basics you need to know to lead your community effectively. Learn what your Fiduciary responsibility is, how to run an effective meeting, what the role of a director is, what the governing documents are (and how to use them), and, how to read a financial statement. If you are interested in teaching this course, facilitator training is provided from time to time. See Calendar for upcoming dates.
Our Chapter offers ABCs on-site. Bring the Nationally recognized program, ABC's A Basic Course for Community Leadership to your community. We will arrange a special on site program and conduct the ABC's Course right in your community. Contact the Chapter office for more information.
